Curriculum Lead & Designated Teacher Location: The Amicus Community – The Amicus School, Fontwell, West Sussex Salary: Appropriate point on Amicus Teaching Scale in addition, a TLR 2 Allowance is Payable Contract: Full-time, Permanent Start Date: From after Easter but can consider Sept start also Are you an inspirational teacher and leader looking for a role that goes beyond traditional education? About The Role The Curriculum Lead & Designated Teacher will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational experience of our pupils, ensuring that our curriculum is both engaging and therapeutic, and that all children receive the support they need to thrive. You will lead teaching and learning, oversee educational planning and assessments, and work collaboratively with a dedicated team to provide a trauma-informed and psychoanalytic approach to education. As the Designated Teacher, you will also advocate for our Looked After Children, ensuring their Personal Education Plans (PEPs) are well-coordinated and their progress is supported. About You We are looking for a committed and passionate educator who: ✔ Has Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with at least 3 years of teaching experience. ✔ Has experience working with children with SEMH needs, trauma, and attachment difficulties. ✔ Is an outstanding classroom practitioner, able to support and develop therapeutic approaches to teaching. ✔ Has leadership experience in school improvement, curriculum development, or staff supervision. ✔ Understands or is willing to learn about psychoanalytic and group relation principles in education and care. ✔ Has a strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and statutory educational requirements. ✔ Is highly resilient, reflective, and emotionally intelligent.
