We are looking for a new team member for our Special Support Centre. This is a very exciting opportunity to join colleagues in developing a centre of excellence in the heart of the school.
We are looking for a candidate to work with our Centre Managers, Mrs Mary Ballingal and Mr James Dunstone, in ‘The Tomlin Centre’, to help create a supportive environment for children with social and communication difference - including children with autism. The centre holds up to 12 pupils across the primary age range. We are looking for good team players who love working with children, are passionate about the development of the whole child and can use initiative whilst under pressure. Relevant experience – and an interest in working with children with ASC is highly desirable. The right candidate will be dedicated to children's progress and wellbeing and will be supported by further professional development and learning; you will be working in a new centre within a modernising school in fantastic grounds with a flourishing Forest School and a committed, supportive Governing Body who value the contribution made by all staff. Please note Applicants would benefit from recent experience working with primary age children in a school setting, desirably with experience of supporting children with social and communication differences. Learning Support Assistant working in our SSC, The Tomlin Centre, (including a Midday Meal Supervision) with ½ hour for lunch. Monday – Friday 8.15am – 3.00pm (½ lunch break) 31 hrs 15 minutes per week term time only Salary Grade 4 point 5 Annual salary £24,790 pro rata (Actual £17,635) Visits to the school are welcome.
