Comptons Lane, Horsham, West Sussex, RH13 5NT Deputy SENDCo MPR/UPR plus SEND allowance Required from September 2025 The Forest School is a highly successful, friendly and dynamic 11-16 School, committed to achieving high standards and to developing the potential of all our students and staff. It is an exciting time in the history of the school as from September 2021 the school had its first co-educational intake and now has over 200 girls. We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and passionate Deputy SENDCo to join our Inclusion Team. The successful candidate will work closely with the SENDCo to support the strategic development of SEND provision within the school, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning for students with special educational needs. The Deputy SENCO role will be student-focused and this will involve broadening our curriculum offer within the department. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual who is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of students with additional learning needs and who wants to contribute to a fully inclusive school environment. The post requires someone who is exceptionally well organised and efficient, is used to dealing with a diverse workload and has excellent communications skills. The Deputy SENDCo will have a demonstrable understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and the OAIP and experience of working with students with SEND. They will work effectively with students, parents, staff and external agencies with a commitment to ensuring an inclusive education for all students.
