1 Overview

The 2 year old Local Authority (LA) Issued Early Years Funded Entitlement (EYFE) is applied for directly through the LA you live in. Families who meet the eligibility criteria can claim up to 15 hours of funded childcare per week for 2 year olds.

This page will let you know how you can find out if your child is eligible for 2 year old LA Issued EYFE and how to apply.

The following table shows the date a child is born between and when they might become eligible for 2 year old LA Issued EYFE.

A child born on or between1 April to 31 August Will be of eligible age at the start of the term beginning in:September after their second birthday
A child born on or between1 September to 31 December Will be of eligible age at the start of the term beginning in:January after their second birthday
A child born on or between1 January to 31 March Will be of eligible age at the start of the term beginning in:April after their second birthday
