3. Progress and impact

Progress and impact from leaders across the partnership.

Educational Psychology Service (EPS) have changed the way they carry out their assessments, taking a more person-centred approach. Assessments are more meaningful and completed more swiftly.

The service continues to commission an external agency Educational Psychologist to increase capacity in EPS.

We have reconfigured the SEN Assessment Team (SENAT) from large generic teams into smaller specialist teams. One team is now focused on EHC needs assessments and plan writing.

Staff training was delivered for the whole SENAT service in August 2024. Expectations were re-set and working processes were reviewed to streamline.

Additional staff have been recruited in SENAT, to increase capacity of growing demand.

EHCP quality assurance auditing programme is in place, including direct feedback from parent carers, showing an improving picture.

Established monthly SEND performance monitoring meetings with Assistant Director for Education and Skills and Head of SEND & Inclusion. Performance is also reported monthly to the SEND & Alternative Provision Board and a focus for Children, Young People and Learning Scrutiny Committee with elected members in June 24.
