Use of other logos

The County Council's stance on using other logos on this website.

Our overall approach is not to use logos on www.westsussex.gov.uk standard web pages, unless West Sussex County Council (WSCC) has either:

  • an obligation to do so as the beneficiary of funding it has received
  • a contractual obligation.

If approved, funders should note that logos will be added at the bottom of a standard web page (on the first page if there is more than one) to allow insertion into an area of 800 x 480 pixels without causing white space.

We do this as the use of imagery can have accessibility implications and cause usability issues, particularly for those using small screen devices such as mobile phones. Depending on the length of the page, this may mean scrolling down.

Logos will not be used:

  • as part of a commercial or reciprocal linking arrangement
  • to associate a WSCC transaction with a service provider
  • to brand standard pages
  • to acknowledge partners WSCC has worked with.

However, it might be possible to use logos and branding on WSCC campaigns and subsites (such as Shoreham Airshow inquest), within existing design guidelines.
