Help for people who need ongoing support to find and stay in employment.
Workability supported employment for carers and those with disabilities, sensory impairments and acquired brain injury
Workability supported employment is for people with one or more of the following:
- physical and sensory impairments
- acquired brain injury
- people who are carers
Supported employment offers specially designed support to enable people to find and continue paid employment in their local communities.
You do not need to have an Education, Health and Care Plan.
Qualifications or experience you need to apply
You need to be at least 18 and wanting to work. You do not need any qualifications or work experience.
How long it will last
This will vary, depending on the level of support that you need.

You can apply for Access to Work funding.
Getting paid
You will be supported towards eventual paid employment.

WorkAid supported employment for people with a learning disability or autism
WorkAid Supported Employment provides support to people in West Sussex with a learning disability or neurodivergence, such as dyslexia. It also provides employment support to autistic people.
The service offers bespoke support to enable people to find and continue voluntary or paid employment in their local communities. They also offer work experience programmes tor those without any previous experience.
You do not need to have an Education, Health and Care Plan.
Qualifications or experience you need to apply
You need to be at least 18 and have the right to work. Further information is available from Supported Employment West Sussex.

This will vary, depending on the level of support that you need.

Southdown supported employment for those using mental health services
Southdown supported employment provides support for those who are using a mental health service. Southdown also offers a specialist service for young people who are accessing services from NHS Early Intervention Teams.
You do not need to have an Education, Health and Care Plan.
Qualifications or experience you need to apply
Support is available for adults aged 16 and older who live in Sussex, are using a mental health service and are motivated about moving towards employment. Your NHS Mental Health Team will need to refer you.
How long it will last
You will receive support from an employment specialist to create a ‘journey to work plan’ tailored to your needs and interests. Job search, support throughout the recruitment process and, once in work, time-unlimited support for both you and your employer.
