Our autism alert card can be carried by a person who has autism and used in situations where communication may be difficult. The alert card, developed in consultation with adults who have autism and parents, is designed to tell people about the condition and asks them to show respect and tolerance. It can be particularly useful if a person who has autism comes into contact with criminal justice professionals, such as police officers, magistrates and solicitors.

What we do

  • What's in the card and where can I get one? The card comprises a wallet which contains a leaflet of key facts about autism, and a credit-card style insert where people can write emergency contact details.
  • You can order the autism alert card for £2.50 from our online shop.
  • The insert is available in the following languages: Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, Dutch (Flemish), English, French, German, Greek, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Somali, Spanish, Turkish, Urdu and Welsh.
  • We also produce business card-style information cards explaining autism and Asperger syndrome that can be handed out to passers by as needed - see the links above on the right-hand side of this page.
