Help The Parent is a parenting programme open to all parents of children aged 8 to 18 years of age.
As a parent you may be struggling with challenging behaviours. You may be fearful of the repercussions if you don't give in to your child's demands, or your child may behave with verbal or physical aggression towards you.
Help The Parent will provide you with insight into your situation and the skills and knowledge to address the unwanted behaviours that you are experiencing.
What we do
- Many of our parents talk about feeling isolated and alone. Through Help The Parent, you will meet other parents and carers that can relate to your feelings and your situation. You will feel understood and supported through the peer connections you make.
- The programme supports parents of children aged 8-18, experiencing difficulty changing unwanted behaviours, deemed to be out of parental control, experiencing child to parent violence/abuse or feel they have to 'tread on eggshells' or placate their child.
- Help The Parent offer a free 30 minute initial discussion . We listen and talk through your situation and history. Debbie and Helen are experienced and intuitive in understanding and recognising key issues. We will then plan the best way forward.
- Debbie Clarke and Helen Meehan have enjoyed working successfully as practitioners supporting children, adolescents, parents and families for over 20 years. Help The Parent work confidently with SEND. We also provide 1-1 support throughout the programme.
- Our mission is to empower parents and carers to achieve the balance, boundaries and control they would like within their homes and lives, whilst maintaining positive and loving relationships with their child.
