Home-Start Chichester and District is a local charity, supporting families with young children where the parents are going through a tough time. We support families during their children's early years because childhood can't wait.

What we do

• Families can need help for so many different reasons. Home-Start works alongside parents who are facing things like isolation, first-time parenthood, ill-health, disability, lone parenting, bereavement, children's behavioural issues or multiple births.
• Home-Start volunteers are people from different backgrounds and vary in age, but they all have parenting experience. All our volunteers are carefully selected for their friendliness, practical approach and understanding. All volunteers undergo training and support, and are fully DBS checked.
• Volunteers will visit families in their own homes and accept them as they are. Their support is confidential.
• Our criteria for working with families is that they have at least one child under 5 years of age.
