The Releasing Potential Institute is the academic research and professional training wing of Releasing Potential, an educational charity and independent school with bases of operation in West Sussex and Hampshire. The institute specialises in running courses in The Management of Challenging Behaviour, and offers three fully accredited qualifications (NCFE Levels 2-4). We also organise an annual conference on SEND and run free 'Resource Hub' workshops throughout the academic year.

What we do

  • The Management of Challenging Behaviour Level 2 (online), Level 3 (taught) and Level 4 (taught) at our Chichester School site. The courses are aimed at professionals working with children and young people.
  • Our annual conference engages with a range of topics related to SEND and brings together experts in the fields of education, care, local government and the third sector.
  • Resource Hub is a free training and networking event open to professionals and families, aimed at sharing best practice in SEND locally. Sessions take place in Chichester and Fareham and are free of charge to all.
  • We are co-authoring a number of research provosts in conjunction with local universities. Most recently, with Dr Kieron Hatton (University of Portsmouth) we have explored the impact of interventions for children at risk of permanent exclusion

Thank you for an amazing, inspiring course. I have so much to take away and use with my young people and I now feel empowered to do it!
