The Movement Centre works with children and their families from across the UK to provide a unique, evidence-based therapy called 'Targeted Training.'
The children who visit The Movement Centre have cerebral palsy, global developmental delay (GDD), or other problems of movement control. A course of therapy can help them gain essential functional skills, which can make them far more independent.
The Movement Centre is a registered charity (no. 1075549).
What we do
- The Movement Centre provides a specialist therapy called Targeted Training. Targeted Training has been developed to help children with movement disabilities gain control of their movement. The therapy takes place in a standing frame.
- The specialist standing frame is taken home and families carry out daily exercises. Throughout the 12 month course families come to The Movement Centre every 8 weeks for an assessment.
- No referral is required. The Movement Centre see children aged 0-18 who have Cerebral Palsy, Global Development Delay, Down Syndrome, Acquired Brain Injury and Genetic Disorders and have movement difficulties.
- Our clinical team are specialists in Targeted Training therapy, which has been developed at The Movement Centre over the last 25 years. This means that they have a real understanding of the challenges families face and how to support them.
- There is disabled parking, wheelchair accessible building and toilet facilities.

Our users say
We could see the therapy help our son get stronger before our eyes. It's not an easy, quick fix but it works and it's been life changing for Leo.
