The Elective Home Education is able to provide information and support in regard to educating your child at home. Please contact them for more information on the type of support available.

What we do

• Parents are allowed to educate their children at home instead of school if they choose to do so. Under English law, it is education that is compulsory, not schooling, though the vast majority of parents do choose to send their children to school.
• There are no funds directly available for parents who decide to home-educate their children. Local authorities have no legal duty to provide financial support to parents who choose to home-educate their children.
• Some local authorities however, do provide free national curriculum materials and other support to parents. The level and extent of such support is decided locally, based on the local authority's own policies and the needs of the child.
